Have you wondered what goes on “behind the scenes” of the SUNA Foundation? Do you enjoy helping with fundraising activities? Are you interested in promoting SUNA through scholarships and research opportunities? If so, an opportunity is now available for a SUNA member to join the Foundation.
Role Responsibilities & Expectations. A few planning meetings are conducted via Zoom each year. Trustees review scholarship applications via email (and Zoom, if necessary). Trustees are required to attend the SUNA uroLogic Conference in the fall to assist with raffle ticket sales, Silent Auction setup and monitoring during exhibit times, and preparation of items for auction bidders. This time frame generally runs from preconference morning until the day after exhibits close. Hotel and airfare are reimbursed per SUNA policy, but conference registration is on your own. The term of service is at least 2 years.
Apply! To be considered for this role, complete and submit a Volunteer Leadership Opportunity Form to the SUNA National Office (firstname.lastname@example.org). The new Trustee will start as soon as possible to orient for the 2021 Silent Auction activities.
Questions? Contact Debbie Buback, Foundation Chair, at email@example.com.
The SUNA Foundation will host a Silent Auction on October 30, 2021, in conjunction with the uroLogic Conference at the Marriott St. Louis. The SUNA Foundation is requesting donations for the auction (gift cards, electronics, gift baskets, apparel, jewelry, etc.). All donated items are tax deductible. Proceeds from the auction support the scholarships and grants offered by the SUNA Foundation.
If you are interested in donating, please complete and return the Silent Auction Donation Form by October 10. Bring the donated item(s) with you to the conference or ship them to arrive in St. Louis, MO, by October 28.

Cherish Celebrations and Memories with the SUNA Foundation
Cherish celebrations of personal milestones, special family events, or even chapter accomplishments with a donation to the SUNA Foundation. You also can donate a memorial gift honoring a loved one, friend, colleague, or patient. Your generous donations help SUNA members achieve scholarships for pursuing education to further the growth of urologic patient care and support urologic nursing research.
Urology nurses care for patients across the lifespan, providing guidance and treatment for a variety of urologic diseases and concerns. Recognizing the need to advance urologic nursing practice and create a continuum of knowledge, the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates (SUNA) formed the SUNA Foundation.
Committed to propelling urologic nursing care, the Foundation offers many opportunities for SUNA members by funding urologic nursing research, scholarships, and educational programs.
Gifts from donors help urologic nurses and associates research their ideas, further their nursing education, and seek specialized training. Patients ultimately benefit from their expanded knowledge and expertise.
