Urologic Nursing Selected to NAHRS List of Nursing Journals

The Nursing and Allied Health Resources Section of the Medical Library Association (NAHRS/MLA) has selected Urologic Nursing to a list of nursing journals developed to assist nurses and librarians who evaluate nursing and interdisciplinary journal titles for library collection development and publishing opportunities. For collection development, the group compared database coverage and full text options for each title. Nursing and interdisciplinary journals were selected for this list based on selection criteria established by the project team. Criteria included:

  • Published as a scholarly, peer reviewed professional journal.
  • English language or bilingual English/other.
  • Currently published, with an ISSN and/or electronic ISSN.
  • To qualify for inclusion, journals must be in the nursing subset of MEDLINE or CINAHL, or a highly cited interdisciplinary journal with many nurse authors.

The NAHRS 2012 Selected List of Nursing Journals is based on expert librarian opinion informed by metrics, including the NAHRS mapping studies and statistics on evidence-based content. The 212 titles on this list represent scholarly journals for the nursing profession. For more information, go to nahrs.mlanet.org.
