180 Medical is one of America's fastest growing nationally accredited providers of sterile-use catheters, urologic, and disposable medical supplies. 180 Medical is used as a referral source for some of the top rehabilitation facilities, pediatric hospitals and urologists in the world because of their extensive knowledge and customer care. 180 Medical is in network with thousands of health plans, insurance networks, and state Medicaid programs.

180 Medical was founded by Todd Brown who was injured in a motocross accident over 17 years ago. After rehab he had trouble adjusting to life at home like many others do. He had recurring urinary tract infections from using catheters and knew there had to be a better way. He met some friends at a wheelchair race that introduced him to closed system catheter kits. These helped him stay healthy and drastically reduced his infections. His life had been turned around and he wanted to help others get the supplies they need. View his story.

180 Medical is proud to support SUNA along with many other organizations across the country including the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation and Challenged Athletes Foundation. Find out more about 180 Medical by going to their website www.180medical.com.

Dr. Arthur T. Evans was one of the founding fathers of the AUAA. In the late 1960s, the AUA recognized the need for specialty education of supporting personnel - the urology nurse, technician, and physician's assistant. Dr. Evans was one of the leaders who was instrumental in influencing the AUA to create an Allied division as part of its organization. In 1969, the Allied Health Professions Committee of the AUA was formed, with Dr. Evans as chairman. Letter from Chapter Enhancement Scholarship Recipient

The Syracuse Chapter was awarded a Chapter Enhancement Scholarship in June 2018 to subsidize our participation in the "Spring into Health" fair in 2019. Our chapter attended the event, which was held on Sunday April 7, in conjunction with Natur-Tyme, a local health store, along with 30 other vendors. We used our scholarship to sponsor a booth. Chapter members volunteered at the booth and talked with participants about urologic health. We discussed four main topics: kidney stones, bladder health, hematuria, and prostate cancer. For each topic, we provided questions for participants to answer for a chance to win a free water bottle. More than 250 participants stopped at our booth and shared their experiences with us. SUNA fact sheets related to the main topics also were available at the table. On behalf of the chapter, I want to express our appreciation for having been awarded the scholarship. This community event was an extremely rewarding experience.
